Six Mile Gate is a drop off point for treks in the eastern part of the Northern country. It is also a pickup point for treks who have completed their trek. Since it is on a public road, it is sometimes used by non-scouters who wish to visit the T-Rex footprint. The first staffed camp after six-mile is Indian writings. Treks are deposited or picked up via Philbus at the fence, and must cross the fence via a small flight of steps to enter the backcountry. Within range of the fence is a Red Roof Inn, which may be made use of before entering or leaving the backcountry.
