Philwiki meetings allow the editors of Philwiki to have conferences in real time, so that they can more easily an quickly discuss ideas concerning Philwiki. This replaced the project discussion page in terms of quick discussion among the lead contributors, while the PDP remains in use for longer term discussions that are available to the general public.

Meetings occur every Thursday at 9PM Mountain Time (11PM ET / 8PM PT / 4AM UTC). An agenda is posted in the days beforehand, and is locked 5 hours before start to prevent vandalism. They are held using AOL Instant messenger's group chat feature.

Process[]

Right after the previous week's meeting, Philwiki creates a page called "Philwiki:Meeting [number of meeting]". Items can be added to the agenda section, but they need to be formatted and signed. Please write===[''Your first name, linked to your user account] suggests:===. Random items added anonymously will not be generally be discussed, because nobody can be accountable for them. If you are confused please look at the archives for formatting. Not all items wre guaranteed to be discussed in the meeting.

The meeting starts at 4AM UTC, when Neil invites people who have contacted an administrator about joining. After greetings, the memebers work their way through the agenda, trying to discuss all things on it in about one hour. The meeting ends.

By Friday afternoon, the person who hosted the meeting posts the discussion contents, to ensure transparency in decisions. Discussion may continue at the project discussion page.

Who can come[]

The meetings are essentially open to everyone, however, it is preferred if only people that really want to participate and can contribute constructively should attend. In the future, with more editors, the meetings will be restricted to administrators and bureaucrats with selected editors invited. To be invited, an editor must ask an administrator to be invited. Neil is the best person to ask. If a person is interfering in the discussion, then he or she may either be asked to leave or be booted.
