The crew leader is the decision maker for a trek.

Before departing the crew leader plans the route for each day, how long it will take to get to their destination for the day, activities that will be participated in for each day, and checking for all available water sources along the trail. Other important objectives for the crew leader is deciding when the group should get up in the morning, what time the camp should be broken down, and when the crew would like to arrive at their destination for the day. The crew leader may discuss the plan with the trek to get suggestions and alternatives and then decides on the action to be taken.
